ABOUT

Inspired by an interview with Ms. Versa Williams, who grew up in the Northeast Park Hill neighborhood of Denver. The script for Real Estate was created by collaging transcripts from her interview with fictional characters. These fictional characters are inspired by accounts and histories of predatory lending and systemically racist practices by governments, banks, real estate agents, and individuals, practices which purposefully created disparities in opportunities for home ownership, business investment, and generational wealth accumulation for Black and Brown residents in Denver.
